Meru Governor Peter Munya has warned Deputy President William Ruto not to interfere with Party of National Unity (PNU) affairs.
Speaking on Saturday at Mwicione in Imenti South during the world Ushirika Day celebrations, the governor accused Ruto and Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi of scheming to sabotage the party.
“I know Ruto is behind the entire row facing PNU because he has already sensed defeat in 2022 and he is trying all his best to block me from vying for the presidency,” he said.
He, at the same time, accused the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal of favouritism but assured his supporters that PNU is firm and stable.
“There is some mischief being played at the PPDT because we know Kamama has no mandate in PNU since he joined Jubilee. We support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid now but in 2022, we will use the party ticket to run for presidency,” Munya added.
